Welcome to our 2021 Season!
As always, the act of storytelling is at the center of Ancram Opera House’s work and, in tumultuous times like these, AOH believes that telling and listening to stories is one way for us to process the many challenges we are collectively experiencing.
For 2021, we’re thrilled to announce AOH AFIELD — a hybrid season that combines free virtual programs; live in-person events at outdoor locations across the beautiful Roe-Jan region in the summer; and a return to performances at AOH’s beloved space in the fall.
AOH is committed to creating a safe and comfortable environment for patrons and performers alike. We are closely following protocols established by the CDC and state; for more details on what to expect, click here.

An Iliad is a modern-day retelling of Homer’s classic. With poetry and humor, the ancient tale of the Trojan War and the modern world collide in this explosive theatrical experience.

Everyone has a story to tell. Now, in its second year, AOH is leading storytelling workshops with the 4th, 5th and 6th graders at Taconic Hills School to support the writing curriculum. The program culminates with students volunteering to share their stories with the community!

SUMMER PLAY LAB 2021
Dates: June 5 - 25 VIRTUAL
The 2nd annual series features artist-lead virtual community workshops and online performances of two commissioned small ensemble pieces, Perennials by Emergence Collective (Kate Douglas, Matthew Dean Marsh, Raina Sokolov-Gonzalez, and Sylver Wallace) and Sunwatcher composed by Tidtaya Sinutoke with book and lyrics by Isabella Dawis, directed by Nana Dakin and produced by Ikumi Kuronaga.

THE PLEIN AIR PLAYS
Dates: Friday, August 13 - Sunday, Aug 15 LIVE — Three secret locations near AOH
A new program featuring three short original theatre pieces to be performed at secret outdoor locations near the Opera House. The site-specific works are to be staged as a progressive performance with audiences traveling by car to experience three self-contained theatrical events in environments relevant to their content.
